What Do You Like About Your Church
I was just sitting here tonight just thinking about how much my family and I love where we are going to church. The Work of God Chruch in Mitchell, Indiana is awesome. The worship experiences on Sunday mornings are powerful, moving and spirit filled. Our pastor challenges us often and not that I always like my toes stepped on it does make me think and work on making myself better. I am looking forward to what God has for me this year and what I will be doing in the church. There are several areas of need and I am going to be open to what God has for me.
We are seeing several needs in our church and they are not getting filled. I have noticed people do not just jump in and volunteer. Don't wait for someone to ask to fill the need look around and see what you can do.
So I challenge you with these questions.
What is it that you like about the church you are at now? What would you change? What are you doing to make a difference at the church you are at now? What can you do? What will you do?

I absolutely love my chuch. I go to Crossroads in Bedford. Our pastor also challenges us every service. I love the fact that we have 3 services each week and the youth meet on Sunday and Wednesday nights. Their youth program is strong and I pray that my kids can take what they learn and practice it in our community. There is a definite need for assitance and compassion for those who are "lost" in Mitchell. The more souls can bring to Christ, the better our community will be. It starts at home. Go to church as a parent WITH your children. Don't make it optional. Get them involved in church youth activities and encourage them to practice daily prayer. Pray with your family every day. Let them know that prayer, fasting, and giving are the ways to establish your relationship with Our Father. Praying aloud with someone is difficult at first, but soon, the Lord will give you the words. As Christians, we musn't be afraid of speaking the truth about God to whoever will listen. Do not push yourself on them, but take every opportunity to speak of the wonderfulness of Jesus Christ. I guarantee that once they find the peace, love, and grace that the Holy Spirit gives them, they will crave more constantly. That is what our community needs and it is up to us as faithful followers to spread the word about the saving grace of God. I challenge you to invite someone to church with you next week. Don't give up if they say no. Just give them an invitation every time you go. Pray for them. Soon, they will know of your sincerity and they will go to a service with you. Not every church is for every person, so it is also important to find the church where you feel you can grow in the Spirit. Give back to your church, not just monitarily, but with your time. It doesn't have to be a lot, but just get involved. Make new Christian friends and remove yourself from those that bring you down. Life is too short and to live it without Christ is a wasted life, both here on earth and for all eternity. Our God is a loving and forgiving God. Nothing you have done will not be forgiven if you only come to Him and ask. Be sincere and change yourself to learn to walk with Jesus daily. Only then will you know the true meaning of life, love, and happiness.
I am thankful that we have so many churches in our community. I only wish that more would attend and practice their faith.
Thank you, Kim, for asking this very important question. And thank you Jesus for being my personal savior.
God Bless. Dorothy Fox

Great post! Thanks for making me stop and take a real look at what I Like about my church, but most of all for making me look at how I should be becoming more active rather than letting everyone else do it!
